What a strange year it's been! A total life-changer for me.
So it was a total pleasure to be quiz master for a round of technical questions and to take part in the Post Christmas Pre New Year Photo Quiz, organised by Thom Bridge.
This has raised £619 for charity so far - the Trussell Trust, who support a nationwide network of food banks.

Earlier this month I ran a two-day photogrammetry workshop for MFA Photography students at University for the Creative Arts, Farnham.
My absolute favourite moment was one student using a microwave oven as a mini photogrammetry capture studio - it has a turntable, backdrop and a light built in: it's perfect!
Earlier this year myself and my colleague Anna photographed The Ambassadors by Hans Holbein the Younger.
I remember learning about this painting at primary school, so it was incredible to get a private audience with it, and to photograph it in such detail. We produced an eleven gigapixel image file. I spoke about my experience of photographing the painting as part of the National Gallery One Painting: Many Voices, series. Which you can see above.

I wrote an article about how Eizo ColorEdge monitors have helped the imaging work we do at the gallery. You can read it here: https://www.eizocolour.com/spotlight/the-national-gallery-has-added-eizo-coloredge-into-its-workflow/

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the IS&T Archiving 2020 conference due to be held in Washington was swiftly converted into an online format.
I took part in three workshops as part of this:
- Best Practices for Implementing a FADGI Compliant Workflow with Dave Wyble and Tom Rieger.
- Open DICE for Imaging Quality Assessment with Lei He
- Scanner & Camera Imaging Performance: 10 Commandments with Don Williams and Peter Burns.
It's always good to meet others working and researching in the field cultural heritage imaging and it was especially great to take part in workshops with such an international group of participants. Also some great discussions in the Zoom "coffee break" rooms!
